Dyeing Fluff

I have a bunch of 100% Merino Fibre and since when I practise I prefer to do it with colour! I'm still on the practise, practise, practise part with the spinning but at least now I'm getting there a bit more and more each day. I'm at least doing about a foot spun a day! I'm not running on fast but actually quite slow but I'm told that it'll be in time my speed will pick up.

Plus a very good wonderful friend of mine also spins and I'd love to make some dyed Merino for her, so I'm soaking some currently overnight so the acid and salt get into all the fibres overnight. I have some colours made up already but I want to try something funky for her and see how it all works out. I have a lot of colours to choose from but I'm not going to ask her I'm going to dye it with what I have. So it will actually be a surprize to me as well!

Simon loves when it comes time for cooking the fibre, he stands on the steps and watches it cook in the microwave until it's all clear water draining if any is left. I have a huge airing cupboard and my fibre is usually dried in about two days maximum! I'm lucky enough to have the heated airing cupboard where I know others who don't have one and have to dry in other methods.

Now to have fun with it and make something my friend will want to spin!
